TL;DR Watch the short video version of this post – GPT is used as an example here, but it works the same way for MidJourney:
Businesses, creative agencies, freelancers, and creatives all rely on genAI tools like MidJourney to create videos and images for their social media, blogs, and more. MidJourney is one of the most powerful image and video generation tools I’ve seen to date, but to get the best out of it, you need to upgrade to a paid plan.
As a business owner, apart from obvious pricing concerns, I’ve had to face multiple problems with MidJourney’s lack of collaborative features. This is why sharing a single MidJourney account with the team was the only way to solve them. In this guide, I will review all the methods I tried for MidJourney account sharing, what worked, and what is safer and more productive.
Guide: Share MidJourney Account Using Gologin
To share MidJourney with the whole team, all you need to know is how to use a browser like Google Chrome (it’s that easy). You don’t need any technical knowledge or lengthy setups. You can set it up in a few minutes. Here’s how to do it:
1. Install Gologin: Register for a free account, then download and install the app on your computer.
Gologin main screen with several browser profiles for different platforms.
2. Create a Browser Profile With Proxy: Click + icon at the top left to create a new browser profile. You can think of these profiles as completely separate laptops.
Here you also need to add a proxy IP (see below) – click on needed country name in Location column. A clean IP address will assign automatically.
Adding tags and notes is optional for your convenience.
3. Log in to MidJourney (Discord or Website): Run the profile you just created. It will look exactly like Google Chrome since it’s built on Chromium, so you will feel very familiar with it. Go to MidJourney’s website or Discord (whatever you want to set up) and log in with your credentials.
Once you’re in, you now have an active session within your Gologin profile.
4. Share the Profile with Your Team: In the browser profile you just used, click the three-dot menu and choose “Sharing”. Enter your teammate’s Gologin account email in the invite field and set their access permission. Then click Send Invite. This will work even if your friend doesn’t have an account yet.
5. Save the Session: Close the browser profile (just exit the browser window). Gologin will store all cookies and other info about your profile. The next time you open this profile, it will still be logged into MidJourney.
No password or verification is required because it’s essentially the same “device” and session that you set up. Your team can now use all MidJourney features just as if you were sitting at your computer.
Do all users need to buy Gologin’s paid plan?
No. Your team can use Gologin’s forever free plan that includes 3 profiles and access to other people’s shared profiles. This means you only need to buy the paid plan for yourself with all the advanced privacy features and built-in proxies, and share your profile with free users. You can visit Gologin’s super affordable pricing plans here.
Do I Need To Buy The Proxy?
Yes, you can either use Gologin proxy or get your own. Gologin offers some free residential traffic upon sign up.
When you use it all, click Buy proxy in the app to buy more, or feel free to paste and use proxies from other companies.
Can I Simply Share Password To My Gologin App?
Yes, but take caution here: if your main Gologin password is changed by your teammates or employees, the team will not be able to recover it.
We recommend sharing the profiles or inviting team members so you have admin control as the account owner.
Why Do You Need to Share a MidJourney AI Subscription?
The obvious reason for sharing a single account is that MidJourney does not have team or enterprise plans. This means no centralized account management, no collaboration features, and no access to each other’s designs.
However, the only thing they provide is a way for businesses to bill multiple users from a single billing method, but those are just individual subscriptions tied to one billing, and honestly, I’d rather just buy the best subscription tier and share the account instead.
Moreover, not everyone in my team relies heavily on MidJourney, so paying for their subscriptions was just another business cost when we are paying for so many other tools as well. If MidJourney had some collaborative features in the team plan, maybe then it would be worth considering.
The third obvious reason is cost analysis. Why pay for 5 different subscriptions when you can buy the most expensive plan and share your account with everyone else? You will have access to the best features, faster generation limits, better models, more features, and so much more.
So if you also want to safely share a MidJourney subscription with your team, ensuring everyone can use it whenever they want, without having to log in and out every time, I’ve got the best method for you.
MidJourney Pricing and Account Sharing Policy
You can see all the MidJourney plans above. The real power lies in the Pro and Mega plans to meet the needs of any business, agency, or professional with high usage. All the plans are for individual users.
To protect account sharing, MidJourney monitors login patterns and IPs to figure out if people are constantly accessing from multiple IPs, or even concurrently. This can trigger verification prompts, forced logouts, or even suspensions.
If you and your group keep running into forced logouts, it’s frustrating and not worth the trouble. Although MidJourney discourages account sharing, there are some safe methods you can use to get past their radar.
Safe Ways to Share a MidJourney Account Without Getting Banned
People have gotten pretty creative (and desperate) in trying to share MidJourney AI accounts. I tried most of these methods with my team and found four ways from “technically allowed but costly” to “risky or not recommended” to “safe and reliable”.
1. Sharing Your MidJourney Login Credentials (Not Recommended)
The simplest way? Share your password, but you didn’t come all this way here to listen to this, right? Moreover, this won’t work for you for long. MidJourney and Discord both will detect your login patterns and force frequent verifications, logouts, and even account bans.
This violates MidJourney’s terms of service and is a hassle when you’re working with a team. If you’re just sharing within your family, go with it because you don’t have to worry about a productivity crisis due to forced logouts and interrupted workflows.
This method is highly discouraged and should only be used once or twice, but not frequently.
2. Using the Same IP (VPN or Proxy) for All Users
If you want to share the MidJourney account’s password and want a way to bypass their security checks, you can use the same VPN (and the same IP). For this method, you first have to share a VPN account, select the same IP, and then log in to look as if it’s the same user.
The downside? A good VPN that lets you choose your own specific IP is also paid, so you end up paying for another subscription, losing the point of sharing an account. Moreover, VPNs can slow down browsing and may lose connection midway.
In short, using a VPN to share an account is a band-aid, not a solution. You’re fixing the IP problem, but I would say it technically works, but not recommended.
3. MidJourney “Group Buy” Services (Dangerous for Business)
You will come across countless group buy services that will provide you with MidJourney subscriptions at a fraction of the original cost. Why? Because you’re sharing that account with 10 other people. They would either give you the login credentials or make you create an account on their virtual machine, where MidJourney will be logged in, and you can directly use it from there.
This is an okay approach if you don’t use it much as an individual. If you’re a freelancer on a low budget, it’s worth a try, but if you are a business looking to share your account with others you know or work with, you can’t go the group buy route.
The obvious downside is that so many unknown people using the same account means usage limits will always be full, there will always be people trying to use the account at the same time as you, and you can’t expect your design to get queued since other people have theirs in the queue.
It’s a frustrating process, and I think the free plan is much better than purchasing a premium plan through these group buy services. It kills productivity, and I don’t recommend this method at all.
4. Gologin Anti-Detect Browser (Safe, Fast, Reliable)
Using an anti-detect browser for multi-account management has been one of the best finds for my business. Being able to share, collaborate, and manage all my business accounts and subscriptions with my team has not only improved productivity but also saved a few thousand dollars every month in hefty subscriptions. That’s how I also manage the MidJourney subscription.
This is the safest and most reliable account-sharing method for not just MidJourney but for all other AI and marketing tools we use. How does this work? An antidetect browser is just another browser with added privacy features and antidetect capabilities.
A browser like Gologin is made on Chromium, so it looks exactly like Google Chrome (but better). You create a browser profile and select a specific IP, location, device type, and save it. Now this profile has its own IP and other settings, which makes it look like a unique device itself.
I share my browser profile with my teammates, and when they open this profile on their Gologin browser, all my settings and IPs work for them as well, making it look like all the traffic is coming from the same device. This makes using MidJourney between multiple people so much easier and safer without the risk of any bans.
The best part? I don’t have to share my passwords. I just logged in to the account through my desktop, and they can access it from their devices since it’s the same cloud-synced browser profile.
Here is a quick guide on how you can set up a profile on MidJourney and share it with your team.
More Services You Can Share with Gologin
In my business, we’ve created separate profiles for social media accounts, AI tools, and marketing tools. This way, I can set which teammates can access which profiles.
My support team can handle Telegram support queries without running into multi-device login issues. The marketing team can share the Ahrefs subscription, Google Ads, and Facebook Business, etc.
This setup keeps our workflows stable, avoids constant verifications, and saves thousands every year on extra seat licenses.
Conclusion
After testing multiple ways to share the MidJourney subscription with multiple people, Gologin is the best method, followed by using a VPN/IP service as the second-best option. This method saved us additional cost, which we put into buying the Mega plan to make the best of the tool.
Now, Gologin is central to how I manage not just Midjourney but also other subscriptions across my agency. It saves money by pooling accounts, keeps workflows smooth, and gives us peace of mind by reducing the risk of account bans.
