Cloud phone farming has moved beyond hundreds of mobile phones stuck on a huge wall with charging cables plugged-in, and auto-scrolling YouTube and Facebook videos for views. Times and use cases have changed, and so has the underlying infrastructure. You don’t need to buy hundreds of physical devices when you can rent them through a cloud phone provider.
In this blog, I reviewed the DuoPlus cloud phone platform for reliability, speed, ease of use, cost, and features. Use cases like multi-accounting management, views farming, data scraping, and other operations require reliable, consistent and fast cloud phones. More importantly, the infrastructure must be easily scalable to hundreds or thousands of devices. Lets dive in!
What Is DuoPlus
DuoPlus is a cloud Android phone platform that rents out virtual Android devices. You can rent multiple android devices and pay for usage mins. DuoPlus markets itself as a cloud phone service for multi-accounting, social media management, sales, automations and crypto-related workflows.
The platform also sells phone numbers along with cloud phones for SMS verification, running cross-border business operations and customer support workflows. You can set up cloud phone automations, run bot scripts, manage multiple Android devices at once, and run ADB, etc.
DuoPlus claims that their environments run on real ARM hardware. Unlike emulator softwares that run on Linux, or Windows environments, and only virtualize device hardware on software level, ARM means that your cloud phone is actually running on supported Android hardware. This reduces the risk of account ban.
DuoPlus Core Features
DuoPlus claims a lot of features on paper but I believe in testing each claim myself before rephrasing what they write. For this blog, I installed DuoPlus’s desktop app, and tried running multiple Android emulators on it.
I usually rate a product like this based on:
- How easy is it to use?
- How good is the user experience?
How easily can I figure out how a feature works (self explanatory UI)? - How reliable, consistent and fast is the cloud phone service?
DuoPus claims batch management of cloud phones, operation sync, ADB functions, app pre-installations, RPA scripts for social media automations and others, and a cloud number service to bind to your device. I tested all the claims and here is my take.
UI and Ease of Use
DuoPlus is fairly straightforward when it comes to ease of use. Their platform shows that they have been iterating and improving their product with customer feedback for 2 years since launch. Although some features are hard to use, and have a bad UI, most of the initial sign-up flow looks great.
When you sign-up, they quickly take you to creation of your first cloud device and add your own proxy. You can proceed without a proxy but nothing would launch without it. No proxy, go home. That’s the weird thing I did not like. The platform should let you launch a cloud device with the default IP settings of their claimed ARM hardware so you can see how good their cloud phones are, or they could provide a free proxy datacenter for the 30-min free session.
The rest of the feature tabs in their app also have a good UI. Their RPA and synchronization sections are self explanatory and you can easily understand how to use them.
Performance and Lag
Performance and lag disappointed me. The first launch of a cloud device took approximately 120 seconds. For the reference, my device has the latest DDR5 ram, newly released GPU and gaming-level processor so the time it took me is probably less than what it would be for many people out there running these phones on medium or low spec laptops. The second launch took only 20 seconds – which is still long.
Overall, the device was slow and laggy. I did not have the option to customize the processor or RAM of my cloud Android device so I have no idea what settings I was running on. In the device’s settings, I can see 32GB of storage that the phone has but can’t see the RAM. A cloud Android phone running on real ARM hardware is hiding the RAM it’s allocating to its phones? Interesting.
In my opinion, they should let you choose the amount of RAM, storage, processor type, etc when creating an Android device. They can charge more for higher-end specs because not everyone will be running hundreds of TikTok accounts, some just want one reliable and fast device.
On Trustpilot, there are only two 1-star reviews out of 56 and both of them are about slow and laggy performance. I trust only those reviews to be real at this point.
RPA, Syncronization, API & DuoAI
I bought multiple devices to test their RPA and synchronization. With each device, you have to buy a proxy separately because the phones won’t launch without it. This time, I started multiple phones at once and they all took 150-170 seconds to start the very first time.
I tested the Synchronizer feature. It is promising for easy tasks like filling forms in bulk, scrolling TikTok, hitting the like button, commenting, creating bulk accounts, etc. However, I noticed that all the phones were significantly slower than the master phone.
Moreover, the synchronizer only copies the click position or action done on the master device. In one of the devices, I changed the screen position of one app. I launched it from the master phone and every phone followed except one because it did not have the same app at that exact position. That is completely fine because this feature is designed for mimicking what one device is doing.
I like the DuoPlus RPA feature. They have provided a decent library of pre-built templates for warming up accounts, or engaging with apps instead of creating your own automations. You can schedule specific actions for each emulated Android phone and they run automatically in the cloud to perform actions like warming up TikTok accounts, Instagram engagement, X replies, etc.
If you have AI credits, you can create your own actions by chatting with DuoAI and letting it map actions based on what goal you want to achieve. I like this feature because it provides a way for less technical folks to create niche automations they need.
DuoPlus’s API support is great. They offer endpoints for batch install, uninstall, repeated automations, assigning proxies to phones, creating groups, etc. all through a single API key. Their API documentation is also detailed enough to spin an AI agent to create a custom dashboard for your cloud Android phone farm, multi-accounting or marketing tasks.
Proxy Setup and Security
You can’t test their cloud phones without a proxy and they don’t mention it on sign-up. The platform just randomly pops-up a proxy screen that you can dismiss and proceed. However, instead of a power on button, you see a verify proxy button on your cloud phone. A new user who doesn’t know about proxies will not be able to figure out how to launch this cloud phone profile because there is no button for it.
Thankfully, they have a bulk proxy feature so I added a few Floppydata proxies for testing. DuoPlus instantly verified proxies and their location. That’s how I was able to launch my cloud phone profiles later on.
DuoPlus takes proxies seriously because their phones rely on them for geolocation, mobile network country, etc. Although they make it easy for users to import proxies, not including a small bandwidth in their plan, or an in-app purchase screen for proxies creates additional friction.
If you’ve never used proxies before, you’d be surprised to find out that proxies are the real cost in this whole workflow. An IP can cost you $1-$5 depending on your vendor and proxy type, compared to $0.06/10 mins of DuoPlus phone usage.
DuoPlus Pricing
DuoPlus is more affordable than some of its competitors like GeeLark in terms of per-min usage pricing. You get 30 mins of free usage on sign-up. When you buy more devices, you get more startup time with them (depending on the validity of the device, and how many devices you’re buying).
It is hard to say how much DuoPlus’s device costs because of bulk discounts but if you buy only 1 phone for 7 days, you pay $0.8/device or $0.4.device if you buy 50. Additional usage is charged at the rate of $0.06/10 mins.
You only get free additional usage on first purchase and are billed afterwards. If you buy the $16/mo plan, you don’t have to pay extra for startup time anymore and only need to pay for devices.
For cloud phone numbers, you have five countries to choose from. For 30 days, VoIP costs $0.061/day and non-VoIP numbers cost $0.464/day.
Overall Verdict on DuoPlus
DuoPlus sounds like a solid option for mobile Android phones. It is reasonably priced, has a good set of features, and they all work great without any software level bugs. I am glad to see that they have a privacy policy page on their website because it wasn’t opening from their desktop app (which is a software level issue that can turn into a legal battle).
Overall, I did not have to watch any tutorials or figure out how to do certain things. Most of the features are self explanatory with clear instructions and gifs.
The only real problem I have with duoPlus is proxies. They should introduce fixed priced plans with proxy usage included. Usage based pricing sounds great but most customers don’t want to deal with such calculations, and are happy paying for everything in one billing plan like proxies, phones, usage, or even virtual numbers.
DuoPlus vs Gologin Cloud Android
DuoPlus is quite different from Gologin in terms of features they both offer but the core idea is the same: Cloud Android phones. Gologin is primarily an antidetect browser service that also offers cloud Android phones now.
The reason I compare every cloud phone with Gologin is because it is my daily driver and is easier to compare with other tools. Unlike DuoPlus, Gologin doesn’t have any RPA, or synchronizer options built into their app for cloud phones yet. Gologin’s Android cloud profile is fast and reliable with customizable hardware.
Proxy Setup
Like DuoPlus, Gologin Android phone also requires you to setup a proxy before you can use it. The good news is, Gologin has built-in proxies that come with all paid plans. Instead of worrying about proxies, you can assign your browser and Android profiles proxies any time you want. You get 2GB bandwidth in all paid plans.
Pricing Comparison
Gologin is much more affordable. In $9/mo, you can create up to 10 Android cloud profiles with no restriction on time it runs for. For DuoPlus, proxies alone cost me $10 and then I had to pay additional money for cloud phones, and usage time. If you’re not into using RPA bots and synchronizer feature, DuoPlus is an overkill.
Launch Speed and Lag
Gologin is faster and easier to use. Gologin’s Android profiles launch faster, have higher FPS and feel less laggy. However, I like how compact DuoPlus’s launch window is. You can have 5 phones on screen and use them with ease but Gologin had a dark wrapping around it.
Gologin is faster and smoother at this point but DuoPlus looks better. Scrolling is frustratingly awful on DuoPlus, especially if you use a mouse.
