Nothing is more frustrating than that TikTok loading screen that never ends. When we see it, we usually think it’s our connection that’s bad or that our device is broken, but in some cases, like your case, it’s because our country or region has blocked (banned) access to the platform.
TikTok getting banned by governments has become a popular topic lately, especially after the US did it in January 2025. So the search for ways to bypass TikTok bans has increased, and many solutions have emerged.
Some solutions are good and safe, others are just a waste of time that can put you and your accounts at risk.
In this guide, we brought 3 of the best solutions (the good ones, of course) to unblock TikTok in any country or region, whatever the reason for the block is. The good news is that even if you’re not a tech-savvy person, the methods will be explained in simple terms so you don’t get lost.
Let’s get started
Ways To Unblock TikTok From Anywhere
Sometimes the ban on TikTok is temporary, sometimes it’s permanent; whatever the case, we brought you 3 methods that will help you bypass the restriction easily and without any risks. Let’s start with the best and easiest method:
1. Using Gologin Proxy Browser
This is by far the quickest, easiest, and safest method out there to unblock TikTok wherever you are. Let’s explore why.
What is a Proxy Browser, and why choose Gologin?
A proxy browser is used like any other browser you know to navigate the internet, it has a search bar, and it allows you to go to any website you want (like tiktok.com). The difference between a proxy browser and an ordinary browser like Chrome or Safari is that the proxy browser doesn’t send your internet traffic directly to the website you’re trying to access, but instead, it routes it through intermediary servers (which we call proxies).
These servers will take your request for you and deliver it to the website you want to reach on your behalf (like tiktok.com), that way, TikTok will not see your information, like your IP and location (which are restricted); it will instead see the proxy server’s info. So if the server comes from Finland, for example, you will look like you’re trying to connect from Finland, and therefore, TikTok will open for you!
Which proxy browser should you choose?
No need to think too much about it. Out of the many proxy browsers out there, Gologin has proven to be one of the best. Here’s why:
- Gologin offers a premium experience for an affordable price compared to others
- It makes solving any geo-restriction problem feel like a children’s game
- You can change your whole location and IP in one click (it gives you a new identity on the internet)
- It has built-in proxies (saves you from the complexity of getting a separate proxy provider)
- It is safe and will never trigger suspicious login triggers
- You can create multiple profile browsers; each will have its unique IP address and location, so you’ll be able to use multiple TikTok profiles, and none of them will get suspicious
- It is simple to install and use!
Speaking of the simplicity of its installation and use, here are the steps:
How to download and use Gologin:
No method is simpler than using the Gologin proxy browser; you can get started in 5 minutes. Just follow these steps:
- Download and install the app through this link: https://gologin.com/download/
- Create a browser profile by clicking on the + sign, then add a proxy IP in Location column like shown below.
- Launch the profile and use all needed websites like in a regular browser – including Instagram.
- Create more browser profiles to run multiple accounts.
Gologin Use Cases (What People Use It For)
Gologin will successfully unblock TikTok for you if you’re in a restricted region, but you can use it for multiple other purposes too! It’s extremely useful, especially for creators, agencies, and growth teams. Here is what you can do with Gologin on TikTok:
- Managing multiple TikTok accounts without getting them shadowbanned: TikTok is strict with multi-account use. Although it allows you to create multiple accounts on the surface, it actually shadowbans you because when more than 2 accounts share the same IP address and fingerprint, they become suspicious and basically get muted. With Gologin, you can create a dedicated browser profile for each TikTok account. With each browser profile, you get a new IP address and fingerprint, and therefore, you will raise no red flags.
- Running ads or client campaigns from different regions: Agencies and freelancers usually manage TikTok Ads for clients from different countries, but TikTok flags unusual device/IP changes and may cause problems to the client’s profiles. With Gologin’s cloud launch and controlled browser environments, you can safely access TikTok Ads Manager or client accounts without location mismatches or verification loops.

- Testing and optimizing content from different For You Pages: TikTok’s algorithm is so tied to region. I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but content that performs well in one country may not perform at all in another. So if you’re aiming to reach a specific audience that lives in a specific country, you can do that with Gologin. You can simulate a stable environment in different regions of your choice and test how videos, hooks, or ads perform on separate regional FYPs.
- Running or managing TikTok Shop accounts across different regions: TikTok Shop is only available in specific countries, and the platform checks your IP, device fingerprint, and account environment before letting you open or manage a Shop. With Gologin, sellers and agencies can create stable browser profiles that match the region of the Shop they’re operating, avoid location mismatch flags, and they can safely manage product listings, orders, or ad campaigns without getting restricted.
2. Using a Proxy IP
We’ve mentioned earlier that a proxy browser uses integrated proxies to help you mask your identity online, but if you prefer to use your usual browser instead, like Chrome for example, and still be able to stay anonymous with a new IP and location, then you can use an external proxy.
Have no idea what a proxy is? Let’s find out.
What is a proxy?
A proxy is like a mailman who uses his own home address instead of yours when delivering your mail to keep you anonymous. So, when trying to log into your TikTok account, your log in request will be delivered to TikTok by the proxy, and instead of your IP address, TikTok will see the proxy’s. And same example with Gologin, if the proxy is from Finland, the connection will look like it’s coming from Finland, and therefore, access to TikTok is granted.
NOTE: do not confuse proxies with VPNs. Here’s why they’re different:
- Proxy IPs affect only the browser you’re using them on, VPN IPs work on your whole device, including all the other apps on it.
- VPNs encrypt your traffic (your date will look like a confusing code that not even your service provider can understand). Proxies don’t do that.
When reading this you might think that VPNs are better than Proxies for unblocking TikTok, but in reality, this extra anonymity and encryption make them more detectable and flaggable.

How to add a proxy?
Adding a proxy to your device is a bit technical, that’s why people usually go for simple proxy browsers like Gologin instead. But if you want to learn and try it out anyway, just check out this guide: How to use a proxy.
Here’s an example of a proxy provider’s dashboard with Floppydata:
Pros and cons of proxies
Pros
Proxies are good for solving geo-restrictions over TikTok because:
- They offer good speed, which is needed for watching videos
- You have fewer risks of restriction (if using a proxy of good quality)
- They offer cleaner IP ranges than VPNs
Cons
Many people avoid using proxies. Here’s why:
- Free proxies are very dangerous (risk of malware or stolen IPs)
- Good proxies are expensive
- Less convenient than an all-in-one browser like Gologin
Proxy use case
You can also use proxies to target US-based audiences just like this X user:
3. Buying Foreign SIM Cards
Maybe this is the first time you’re hearing about this method because it’s not very popular, but yes, some users try to unblock TikTok by using a SIM card from another country. It can work, but it’s very situational and usually not a long-term solution.
The idea behind it is simple: If the SIM card belongs to a country where TikTok is allowed, maybe TikTok will work for you too, even if you’re in a country where it’s restricted.
Examples
- A user in Turkmenistan inserts a UK SIM → TikTok loads on mobile data.
- A seller uses a Malaysia SIM → can access TikTok Shop tools unavailable in their own region.
- Also, if a user uses a SIM card from a country where TikTok is blocked, then they won’t be able to access the platform! Just like this reddit user:
Pros and Cons of Using a Foreign SIM Card
Pros
- Can temporarily unlock TikTok if the SIM’s home country allows it
- Useful for completing login verification when TikTok keeps blocking access
- Can help sellers access TikTok Shop in supported regions
Cons
- Works only on mobile data; Wi-Fi brings the restriction back
- You inherit the SIM’s home country censorship (ex: Indian SIM = TikTok won’t work)
- TikTok can still detect your real region and trigger errors or verification loops
- eSIMs offer no additional advantage
- Roaming data is extremely expensive, especially for video content
Other Methods Unblocked TikTok & Tricks We Don’t Recommend:
There are many misleading information online that’s showing you ineffective “tricks” to unblock TikTok, which we obviously we don’t recommend. Here are the most recurring ones and why you shouldn’t use them:
Using a VPN
Everyone has used a VPN in their life, or at least heard of it. They can actually unblock access to TikTok just fine, but big consequences come with it. We’ve explained before that VPNs encrypt your traffic when navigating online. This means it will turn your data into an unreadable code that no one can understand. When you try to connect to TikTok, and it detects this encrypted traffic, it will instantly understand that you’re using a VPN, which raises red flags and can get you shadowbanned and trigger endless verification loops.
Change DNS / Smart DNS
A DNS does nothing but translate a website name (like tiktok.com) into an IP address that the machine understands. If you’re a bit tech-savvy, this might have been the first thing you tried when you first heard about the ban on TikTok, but you’ve soon realised that it just doesn’t work. Changing your DNS settings doesn’t change your IP address or location, so it doesn’t do anything to bypass the regional restriction because it basically addresses the wrong problem.
Tor (slow, encryption will trigger bans)
Tor (The Onion Router) is a system designed for extreme anonymity by routing traffic through thousands of relays globally. But it is fundamentally slow, and like a VPN, it relies on heavy encryption and anonymization to function. The Consequences:
- Due to the multi-layer routing, everything will be slow and laggy, which is not ideal for TikTok when you just want to scroll and watch videos or upload some vlogs!
- Same as VPNs, since it uses encryption, Tor traffic is almost instantly flagged by TikTok
Browser Extensions (dangerous)
This is maybe the most dangerous trick that some scammers share online, especially those offered for free. Browser extensions or web proxies often operate with little to no security oversight. They pose a serious security threat – they can steal your data and install malicious software onto your device without you knowing. Also, they are unreliable, slow, and rarely work for complex app-based platforms like TikTok.
Where is TikTok Blocked Right Now?
TikTok is now banned in India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Somalia, and China.
If you are traveling to or living in any of these locations, you must be prepared with a solution like a reliable proxy browser to maintain access.
Countries with restrictions on official/government devices:
United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and most European Union (EU) nations: in these countries, the app is banned on devices issued to government employees, military personnel, and civil servants due to high-risk concerns regarding data security and espionage.
Why Is TikTok Blocked In Some Locations?
The reasons for blocking TikTok are complex and often driven by a mix of geopolitics, data security, and cultural protectionism. There are 3 main arguments that authorities use to justify these restrictions:
- Data security and national security: This is the most common reason that’s mostly used by Western nations. Governments fear that TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, which is headquartered in Beijing, could be compelled by Chinese national security laws to hand over sensitive user data (including location, browsing history, and personal contact info) to the Chinese government. This is viewed as an unacceptable risk of espionage and foreign influence.
- Social harmony and moral content: Many countries, particularly those with more conservative social policies like Afghanistan, claim the platform is “misleading” youth. These bans are often implemented to control the spread of information or erase content that is critical of the government or local culture.
- Geopolitical and trade tensions: In many cases, such as the total ban in India, the restriction was implemented as a response to diplomatic or border conflicts with China. The platform becomes a high-profile target in broader international disputes
Quick Recap
To unblock TikTok in a restricted region, you must use a method that TikTok can’t easily detect. While tools like VPNs, Tor, or free proxies may work for a moment, they usually trigger shadowbans, verification loops, connection errors, or even put you at security risks. If you want stable access to TikTok, manage content safely, or work across multiple regions, the most reliable option is using a clean proxy browser like Gologin, using an external proxy IP, or buying a foreign SIM card.
FAQs
Can I use TikTok with a VPN after the ban?
It is technically possible to use a VPN to change your virtual location and access the TikTok app, but we strongly advise against relying on this method. VPNs use heavy-duty encryption on your device’s traffic, and TikTok’s sophisticated security systems can easily detect this kind of anonymized traffic. This flags your account as suspicious, which is then causes the frustrating shadowbans or getting stuck in endless phone number verification loops. For a secure, stable, and undetectable solution for long-term use and content management, a dedicated proxy or proxy browser is a far superior choice.
Will TikTok come back to India?
Based on the current political environment and official government statements, it is highly unlikely that TikTok will return to India in the foreseeable future. The ban, implemented in 2020 alongside several dozen other Chinese-linked applications, was justified on grounds of serious national security and sovereignty concerns related to data handling. Union IT Ministers have repeatedly confirmed that there is no plan under consideration to revoke the ban on the Chinese platform, so the restriction may stay because it is tied to the long-standing geopolitical tensions between the two nations.
Why had TikTok been banned in the USA?
The restrictions against TikTok in the United States are almost entirely driven by national security concerns related to its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. The U.S. government fears that China’s national security laws could use ByteDance to hand over sensitive user data belonging to millions of American citizens to the Chinese Communist Party. Not only that, but lawmakers are concerned that the Chinese government could manipulate TikTok’s powerful “For You Page” (FYP) algorithm to influence American public opinion and interfere with democratic processes. This led legislation to demand that ByteDance either sell the app to a non-adversarial owner or face an effective nationwide ban.
What will replace TikTok if it gets banned?
If TikTok were to be permanently banned, audiences and the creator community would likely find other platforms that already feature similar short-form video type of content. The most immediate and probable replacement contenders are Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, both of which have been aggressively developing their short-video capabilities and monetization tools to capture the market.
