If at any point in the past two years you searched Google for the most affordable proxy providers, you must have come across IPRoyal in virtually every top-ranking article.
IPRoyal is one of the cheapest proxy services available, so we understand its appeal. It offers short-term deals that let you purchase a proxy for a day, or you can buy as little as 1 GB of traffic. You also get a wide range of proxy types to choose from. But does the low price mean it offers fewer benefits?
We decided to test out its features to see if it offers good value for the money. In this IPRoyal review, we will cover everything from technical performance and pricing to user experience and compliance in a bid to determine if this budget-friendly option is still worthwhile for serious users and enterprises.
General Overview of IPRoyal
IPRoyal was founded in 2018 as a small IP leasing service that focused on renting IP space to other companies, but has since pivoted its business model to selling proxies directly to customers.
Today, the company provides a full suite of proxy services, including residential, ISP, mobile, and datacenter proxies for various use cases such as web scraping, social media management, brand protection, and data aggregation.
IPRoyal has grown quickly over the past few years. It now serves more than 10,000 businesses worldwide and offers over 32 million residential IPs with state and city-level targeting. The platform is intentionally built to be simple and accessible, which makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced proxy users.
More recently, the company has interestingly taken noticeable steps toward rebranding itself away from its budget-friendly identity. IPRoyal now openly compares its services with premium competitors like Bright Data and Oxylabs.
Now, the provider is still largely oriented toward individual users and freelancers, but it’s pretty clear that IPRoyal is positioning itself to attract more businesses and upmarket clients.

IPRoyal Proxy Services
The proxy market is usually a game of extremes. On one hand, you have large premium providers like Bright Data and Oxylabs that focus heavily on enterprise clients.
On the other hand, you have the budget providers that are aimed at individual users and small teams. IPRoyal sits somewhere in the middle of all this. It offers low entry prices but still promises to deliver decent performance across different use cases.
Let’s proceed to break down IPRoyal’s main proxy services and see what you can realistically expect from each one.
Residential Proxies
IPRoyal residential proxies offer access to a global pool of ethically sourced, genuine residential IP addresses across 195 countries. These proxies include country, state, and city-level targeting and support both rotating endpoints and long sticky sessions.
IPRoyal runs its residential IP pool with its custom solution called Pawns. The Pawns app is a bandwidth-sharing network that allows real users to voluntarily opt in and join the network in exchange for incentives. This allows the company to claim that its proxies are ethically sourced, which is a win-win for all parties involved.
The provider also supports sticky residential sessions for up to 7 days. However, since these IPs come from real users who can join or leave at any time, the same IP cannot be guaranteed to remain active for the entire duration of the sticky session, as some IPs may drop or rotate if a user disconnects from the network.
Organisations and enterprise users get a sub-user management tool. This feature is locked behind KYC, but it allows the account owner to create and manage sub-users easily.
IPRoyal also offers a “high-end” IP pool for it’s residential proxies. This basically filters out lower quality IPs so users can get the best of the pool in a selected location.

Residential Proxy Pricing
You can purchase residential proxies on the IPRoyal dashboard using their monthly subscriptions or a PAYG plan.
The subscription option includes a built-in 5% discount, while the pay-as-you-go option comes with non-expiring bandwidth and extra flexibility.
| Pricing Type | Price | Quantity |
| Pay As You Go | $3.68/ GB | 1 GB |
| 1 GB (monthly) | $3.50/GB | 1 GB |
| 2 GB (monthly) | $2.98/GB | 2 GB |
| 10 GB (monthly) | $2.63/GB | 10 GB |
| 50 GB (monthly) | $2.45/GB | 50 GB |
Datacenter Proxies
Datacenter proxies generally offer some of the fastest proxy speeds and they cost much less per IP compared to residential or mobile proxies.
IPRoyal datacenter proxies are no different. The company offers dedicated IPv4 addresses from over 60 countries with unlimited bandwidth and SOCKS5 support. Users also get fine-grained geo-targeting by country, state, or cities, and the provider supports both credential-based login and IP whitelisting.
However, there are some limitations. Each plan is tied to a single country, so you cannot mix locations within one subscription. And to further complicate things, some locations have smaller pools and may occasionally run out of available IPs, so you should keep this in mind.
Advanced targeting options, such as city-level targeting or ISP filtering are also available but they come with added fees.
Datacenter Proxy Features
| Features | Details |
| IP Count | 500k+ IPs |
| Locations | 63 countries |
| Targeting | Country, state, city |
| Bandwidth | Unlimited |
| Rotation | Upon request |
| Concurrency | Unlimited |

Datacenter Proxy Pricing
Datacenter Proxies are available via a subscription and can be purchased directly from your dashboard.
Pricing depends on the duration of your subscription, and the plans offer better long-term value the longer the subscription period.
Mobile Proxies
Mobile proxies are sourced from real mobile users on 4G and 5G networks, which makes them very hard to detect or block. They are widely used for managing social media accounts, avoiding rate limits, and accessing geo-restricted mobile content.
IPRoyal Mobile Proxies provide dedicated access to premium mobile carrier networks with no bandwidth limits or thread restrictions. They support both HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 protocols, and you can target your traffic by country, state, or city.
Mobile plans include unlimited bandwidth and unlimited sessions. Rotation is also fully customizable, allowing you to choose between automatic and manual rotation. Auto rotation refreshes the IP every 3 minutes, while manual rotation lets you trigger an IP change every 6 minutes.
Each plan gives you access to the entire mobile IP pool in your selected location. You can choose how many proxies to use when placing your order, and each proxy dynamically rotates across the available IPs. However, the auto-rotation feature is not available on the 1-day plan.
Mobile Proxy Features
| Features | Details |
| IP count | 4.5 million IPs |
| Locations | 15 countries |
| Filtering | Country, state, or city |
| Proxy Rotation | Available |
| Network Support | 5G, 4G, LTE |

| SOCKS5 | HTTP(S), SOCKS5 |
Mobile Proxy Pricing
Its mobile proxies are subscription-based and they can be purchased right in the dashboard for convenience.
You can buy mobile proxies as daily plans and they go up to 90-day packages. Each package offers the same unlimited bandwidth and full access to the mobile IPs in the selected region.
ISP Proxies
ISP proxies are static residential IPs. They are hosted in datacenters but registered under an Internet Service Provider (ISP), which makes them both fast and highly anonymous.
IPRoyal ISP Proxies offer dedicated IPv4 addresses sourced from premium ISP partners with unlimited bandwidth. They support HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 protocols, precise geo-targeting by country, state, or city, and flexible authentication methods including IP whitelisting.
One advantage of IPRoyal is its pricing flexibility. The provider even offers a one-day ISP plan starting at $2 per IP, which is helpful for short-term scraping tasks or account verification. Users can also select specific cities or states, but these advanced targeting options incur additional fees on top of the base price.
ISP Proxy Features
| Features | Details |
| ISP pool size | Undisclosed |
| Locations | 30+ countries |
| Format | Dedicated static proxies |
| Filtering | Country, state, or city |
| ASN Targeting | Available but costs extra |

ISP Proxy Pricing
ISP proxies are subscription-based and can be purchased for 1, 30, 60, or 90 days directly from the dashboard. All plans include unlimited traffic, premium ISP routing, SOCKS5 support, and dedicated IPs.
Additional tools and services
Web unblocker
IPRoyal’s Web Unblocker is a new product launched in late 2025. It’s essentially designed to serve as a scraping proxy API, which represents the company’s attempt to evolve into a complete data collection platform rather than just a proxy provider
In simple terms, Web Unblocker is an advanced tool that uses AI to bypass CAPTCHAs, Cloudflare protections, geo blocks, and other anti-bot systems.
Unlike proxies, Web Unblocker can be deployed in minutes, and it doesn’t require any configuration or management. It automatically handles most complex web scraping steps, including CAPTCHA solving, IP rotation, error handling, and more.
According to the documentation, Web Unblocker currently works best on e-commerce platforms like Amazon. However, it still struggles with search engines, reCAPTCHA, and interactive challenges.
IPRoyal charges for successful page loads. Pricing starts at $1 for 1k requests and scales to 100k requests.
Video scraper API
IPRoyal also added the YouTube Video Scraper API to its arsenal. It is designed to extract data from YouTube, including video metadata, comments, and engagement metrics.
If your use case involves YouTube, this API can save time by providing a ready-made solution. However, the Video Scraper API currently cannot download live video streams and is not yet available to the public. Hence, you must request access from the team to test out the API. The pricing also isn’t publicly available at the time of writing.
Browser extension
IPRoyal offers a Chrome Proxy Extension and a Firefox Proxy Add-on that let you manage your proxies directly inside the browser. These tools make it easy to switch IPs, apply proxy settings, and monitor connections without opening the main dashboard.
The extensions are completely free and designed with privacy in mind, so you don’t need to rely on third-party tools or share sensitive proxy credentials elsewhere. The Firefox add-on provides the same functionality.
User Experience: Dashboard and Ease of Use
New users can sign up with an email address or by linking a Google account. The onboarding process is quick and straightforward, and KYC is not required at sign-up, so users can actually purchase proxies immediately without delays.
The interface is clean and easy to navigate. We had no issues finding key features or the built-in tools, and even first-time users should be able to locate everything without confusion. The dashboard is visually polished, and you can choose between two languages (English and Chinese), depending on your preference.
The Home page displays your active products and lets you toggle between usage statistics for each proxy type. All invoices and previous orders are stored in the My Orders section, which makes for easy order management.
The Statistics tab inside the Proxies dashboard provides detailed analytics about your traffic usage. You can monitor your residential proxy activity in real time or filter it over a specific date range.
Documentation and Support
Good UI goes hand-in-hand with solid documentation and support, and IPRoyal delivers well here too.
The provider has built a comprehensive library of help resources that cover popular tools, services, anti-detect browsers, and integration workflows.
Customers can browse the Help Center for answers to common questions, explore the Documentation hub for technical details about each product, or follow Quick-Start Guides for step-by-step tutorials. There’s even a YouTube channel with explanatory videos for users who prefer video content.
For direct assistance, you can reach IPRoyal’s support team through the live chat widget on the dashboard or website. Email support is also available at [email protected].
When we tested live chat, an agent responded in under 3 minutes and competently answered every question we asked which was a nice touch.
KYC and Compliance Requirements
Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures are becoming more common due to abuse prevention measures and regulatory compliance and IPRoyal takes a middle-ground approach to KYC.
It is not strictly mandatory for every user, but verification becomes necessary if you want access to certain features, such as:
- A larger portion of the residential pool
- Access to restricted domains
- The ability to purchase unlimited traffic or IPs
You can only be eligible for KYC on the platform after you must have spent at least $10. Until then, your account remains partially restricted for safety reasons. For residential proxies, several domains remain inaccessible without KYC.
If you confirm your identity and spend more than $500 on IPRoyal, additional domains unlock, including:
- All government websites (.gov)
- PlayStation websites
However, some domains remain restricted even after full verification. If you want to access these domains, you must contact the support team through email or live chat for a manual review.
IPRoyal Pricing
IPRoyal used to be one of the most affordable proxy providers on the market, but the company has gradually moved upmarket each year since its mid-2022 pricing review. The service now sits much closer to mid-range competitors like Decodo, but even with these changes, small users still remain the core audience.
At present, the main advantage of IPRoyal is its flexible pricing. You can purchase as little as 1 GB of residential traffic, buy a single ISP or datacentre proxy for a day, or opt for longer plans to benefit from better discounts. This flexibility allows both newcomers and experienced users to scale up gradually.
IPRoyal also provides a wallet system for easier payments. Users can top up their wallet using a credit or debit card, cryptocurrency, PayPal, or other supported payment methods. Topping up the wallet is, however, optional as you can still purchase proxies directly without adding funds to the wallet first.
Free Trial and Refund Policy
IPRoyal does not offer a free trial for its proxies. Instead, companies can request access to try out their Enterprise Proxies. Once they verify company registration and ownership, the team will reach out to arrange a trial.
The idea behind this approach is to help large-scale customers avoid committing to a premium plan before confirming that the service meets their technical requirements.
Even though the company clearly states that it does not offer free trials, we were able to access a complimentary 100 MB test specifically for the residential proxies. This was a pleasant surprise and provided enough data for basic evaluation.
Refunds are available under strict conditions. You qualify for a refund only if:
- You cannot connect to the proxy servers
- You face an issue that cannot be resolved by support within 24 hours
Performance Testing
A proper review goes beyond listing features, so we ran hands-on tests on IPRoyal’s proxies to see how they perform in real time.
As usual, we evaluated multiple IPs to establish a consistent baseline and checked the metrics that matter most for web scraping and other common workloads.
Response Times
Response time is often the first indicator of how smooth your scraping workflow will be. The IPs we tested showed latency in the 185–482 ms range. Most results sat in the low 400 ms area, giving us an overall average of around 401 ms.
This isn’t the fastest performance we’ve seen, but the speeds are stable enough for most scraping tasks and light automation. We also observed some inconsistencies in locations but we’ll cover that in the next section.
Geolocation and ISP Accuracy
Here, we noticed major inconsistencies with the state-level targeting when testing for geolocation accuracy.
On the dashboard, We preselected California as our target location, but several IPs resolved to Chicago instead. All IPs still mapped correctly to the United States, but the regional mismatch may be an issue for users with sensitive workloads.
For general scraping, this inconsistency is unlikely to hugely affectresults, but it is worth noting if you need precise targeting.
Fraud Scores and DNS Leak Tests
Fraud scores help us determine if an IP address has been abused. These scrores range in on a scale from 0-100, and the higher the score, the more likely it is that the IP address has been misused and the IP address is likely to get flagged or even worse, banned.
When we checked each IP using Scamalytics, we quickly observed a worrying behaviour. The Fraud scores ranged from 0 – 74, which is an unusually large spread.
IPs scoring above 40 typically fall into the higher-risk category, and these higher ratings usually lead to increased CAPTCHA activity or blocks during scraping.
Fraud score results
| Score Range | Count |
| 0-20 (Excellent) | 6 |
| 21-40 (Good) | 3 |
| 41-60 (Moderate Risk) | 0 |
| 61+ (High Risk) | 3 |
On the positive side, no DNS leaks were detected during any of our tests. All DNS queries are routed correctly through the proxy network.
Parallel Requests Support
Concurrency is essential for high-volume workflows, so we tested multiple simultaneous sessions. IPRoyal’s residential proxies handled five or more parallel threads without timing out or any major drop in performance. This is one of the stronger points in IPRoyal’s technical performance and makes the service workable for scraping pipelines.
Website Compatibility
The proxies performed well across most tested websites. Social media platforms and e-commerce sites accepted them without issues. On Google, however, these proxies appeared to struggle with the CAPTCHA, likely due to their higher fraud scores.
| Target | Success (%) | Timeout (%) | CAPTCHA (%) |
| 70 | 0 | 30 | |
| 90 | 10 | 0 | |
| X (Twitter) | 100 | 0 | 0 |
| Nike | 90 | 0 | 10 |
| Amazon | 100 | 0 | 0 |
| eBay | 100 | 0 | 0 |

How to Use IPRoyal Proxies in Gologin
Gologin is one of the easiest ways to manage multiple accounts safely. It creates separate browser profiles with different fingerprints, which helps avoid blocks on platforms that do not allow repeated logins from the same device.
Combining Gologin with IPRoyal’s proxies gives you an even safer setup for scraping, automation, or account management. Let’s quickly see how you can configure IPRoyal proxies with gologin:
Note: Before you begin, make sure you have an IPRoyal account with active proxies and a gologin account. Gologin offers a 7-day free trial so you can sign up and download the desktop app if you haven’t already done so.
1. Log in to your IProyal dashboard and navigate to the proxy type you want to use. Copy the proxy connection string or note down the hostname, port, username, and password.
2. Open the Gologin app and click the “Add Profile” button in the All profiles page to create a new browser profile.
3. Choose any base configuration you want. Give the profile a name and scroll down to the Proxy section. Paste the IPRoyal proxy details into the Gologin profile.
Gologin supports pasting the full connection string directly. You can paste the entire string, and it will split into fields. If not, enter the host, port number, and the username/password into the respective fields.
4. Click “Create Profile” and then run the profile. Gologin will check your proxy right away. You will see the green indicator if the proxy works properly, or the red one if it does not.
Follow this article to troubleshoot any proxy issues if you encounter one.
5. A new browser window will open using your IPRoyal proxy. Visit an IP checking website to confirm that the proxy is active.
Your profile is now fully isolated and running through an IPRoyal proxy. You can create more profiles and assign different proxies for each one, depending on your workflow.
Final Thoughts
To sum up, IPRoyal is a decent enough option for users who want reliable proxies without paying premium provider rates. It offers a solid balance of quality and price, and this is one of the main reasons it continues to attract small teams, freelancers, and individual users.
For enterprises, the situation is trickier, as IPRoyal may not always have the consistency or depth needed to serve as the main provider, though it can still work well as a secondary or backup option.
If you plan to use IPRoyal for multi-accounting, pairing it with Gologin makes things much smoother. The setup is simple and takes only a few minutes. Sign up for Gologin today to get started.
