In simple terms, Web Unblocker is an advanced tool that uses AI to bypass CAPTCHAs, Cloudflare protections, geo blocks, and other anti-bot systems.

Unlike proxies, Web Unblocker can be deployed in minutes, and it doesn’t require any configuration or management. It automatically handles most complex web scraping steps, including CAPTCHA solving, IP rotation, error handling, and more.

According to the documentation, Web Unblocker currently works best on e-commerce platforms like Amazon. However, it still struggles with search engines, reCAPTCHA, and interactive challenges.

Video scraper API

IPRoyal also added the YouTube Video Scraper API to its arsenal. It is designed to extract data from YouTube, including video metadata, comments, and engagement metrics.

If your use case involves YouTube, this API can save time by providing a ready-made solution. However, the Video Scraper API currently cannot download live video streams and is not yet available to the public. Hence, you must request access from the team to test out the API. New users can sign up with an email address or by linking a Google account. The onboarding process is quick and straightforward, and KYC is not required at sign-up, so users can actually purchase proxies immediately without delays.

The interface is clean and easy to navigate. We had no issues finding key features or the built-in tools, and even first-time users should be able to locate everything without confusion. The dashboard is visually polished, and you can choose between two languages (English and Chinese), depending on your preference.

At present, the main advantage of IPRoyal is its flexible pricing. You can purchase as little as 1 GB of residential traffic, buy a single ISP or datacentre proxy for a day, or opt for longer plans to benefit from better discounts. This flexibility allows both newcomers and experienced users to scale up gradually.

IPRoyal also provides a wallet system for easier payments. Users can top up their wallet using a credit or debit card, cryptocurrency, PayPal, or other supported payment methods. Topping up the wallet is, however, optional as you can still purchase proxies directly without adding funds to the wallet first.

Free Trial and Refund Policy

IPRoyal does not offer a free trial for its proxies. Instead, companies can request access to try out their Enterprise Proxies. Once they verify company registration and ownership, the team will reach out to arrange a trial.

Even though the company clearly states that it does not offer free trials, we were able to access a complimentary 100 MB test specifically for the residential proxies. This was a pleasant surprise and provided enough data for basic evaluation.

Performance Testing

A proper review goes beyond listing features, so we ran hands-on tests on IPRoyal’s proxies to see how they perform in real time.

As usual, we evaluated multiple IPs to establish a consistent baseline and checked the metrics that matter most for web scraping and other common workloads.

Response Times

Response time is often the first indicator of how smooth your scraping workflow will be. The IPs we tested showed latency in the 185–482 ms range. Most results sat in the low 400 ms area, giving us an overall average of around 401 ms.

This isn’t the fastest performance we’ve seen, but the speeds are stable enough for most scraping tasks and light automation. We also observed some inconsistencies in locations but we’ll cover that in the next section.

Geolocation and ISP Accuracy

Here, we noticed major inconsistencies with the state-level targeting when testing for geolocation accuracy.

On the dashboard, We preselected California as our target location, but several IPs resolved to Chicago instead. All IPs still mapped correctly to the United States, but the regional mismatch may be an issue for users with sensitive workloads.

For general scraping, this inconsistency is unlikely to hugely affectresults, but it is worth noting if you need precise targeting.

Fraud Scores and DNS Leak Tests

Fraud scores help us determine if an IP address has been abused. These scrores range in on a scale from 0-100, and the higher the score, the more likely it is that the IP address has been misused and the IP address is likely to get flagged or even worse, banned.

When we checked each IP using Scamalytics, we quickly observed a worrying behaviour. The Fraud scores ranged from 0 – 74, which is an unusually large spread.

IPs scoring above 40 typically fall into the higher-risk category, and these higher ratings usually lead to increased CAPTCHA activity or blocks during scraping.

On the positive side, no DNS leaks were detected during any of our tests. All DNS queries are routed correctly through the proxy network.

Parallel Requests Support

Concurrency is essential for high-volume workflows, so we tested multiple simultaneous sessions. IPRoyal’s residential proxies handled five or more parallel threads without timing out or any major drop in performance. This is one of the stronger points in IPRoyal’s technical performance and makes the service workable for scraping pipelines.

Website Compatibility 

The proxies performed well across most tested websites. Social media platforms and e-commerce sites accepted them without issues. On Google, however, these proxies appeared to struggle with the CAPTCHA, likely due to their higher fraud scores.
