Get API Key

Headless browser API that sites see as full Chrome

Change one line: launch becomes connect. Your Puppeteer, Playwright or Python code runs as before, and every page gets a full Chrome on a real device and a residential IP. No Docker, no Chrome to patch, no 15-minute session cap.

Free to start, no card. Residential traffic $1/GB.

Connect Puppeteer or Playwright to the headless browser API in one line

Everything after the connect line is the code you run against local headless Chrome today. Add your token and profile id, and the script saves a full-page screenshot, a PDF and the HTML of the page.

  1. Step 01

    Get your token

    Sign up with Google and copy your key from the dashboard. Free, no card.

  2. Step 02

    Create a profile

    One click in the dashboard, or one API call. Pick the IP country: the profile keeps that device, IP and login for every run.

  3. Step 03

    Run the script

    Install the library and run the script below with your token and profile id. It saves page.png and page.pdf next to the script and prints the page title. More in the getting started guide.

Install
npm install playwright-core
Run
GOLOGIN_TOKEN=your_token GOLOGIN_PROFILE_ID=your_profile_id node page.mjs
Connects to
wss://cloudbrowser.gologin.com/connect?token=…&profile=…
import { chromium } from "playwright-core";

const token = process.env.GOLOGIN_TOKEN;
const profileId = process.env.GOLOGIN_PROFILE_ID;
const endpoint = `wss://cloudbrowser.gologin.com/connect?token=${token}&profile=${profileId}`;

const browser = await chromium.connectOverCDP(endpoint);
const page = await browser.contexts()[0].newPage();

await page.goto("https://books.toscrape.com/");

const html = await page.content();
await page.screenshot({ path: "page.png", fullPage: true });
await page.pdf({ path: "page.pdf" });

console.log(await page.title(), html.length);

await page.close();
await browser.close();

See what the page sees: headless Chrome on your server vs Gologin

Same script, same page, two browsers. Local headless Chrome tells the page it is headless before your first click. Gologin Cloud Browser shows a full Chrome on a real Mac and a residential IP, with the time zone to match.

Sign in once, not on every headless run

No storageState files to save, load and lose. Cookies, device and residential IP come back together, so run 40 opens the same signed-in browser as run 1.

The script signs in once, you type the verification code in Live View, and the profile is saved.

Same device, same IP, same account. No login screen, so the script goes straight to the work.

Compare headless browser APIs: price, IP and session length

Browserless, Browserbase and Steel all run Chrome for your script. Gologin has the cheapest hour, residential traffic at $1/GB instead of $8-12, and no cap on how long a session runs.

Watch headless browser automation live, or finish a step by hand

Headless until you need eyes on it. Every session has a Live View link: open it, see the page your script is on, type a code, close the tab, and the run goes on.

  • Debug without headless: false

    No local window, no screenshots in a loop. Open the live session and watch the script click.

  • Hand over from your code

    Takeover is an API call. Any moment, any live session, no restart and no second login.

  • Put it in your own product

    Embed the live session in your dashboard, so your users finish a step in the same signed-in browser.

Building it in? Read the Live View docs, or see Cloud Browser UI.

Delete the browser servers from your stack

What you stop maintaining when the browser behind your script runs on Gologin.

Headless browser API pricing

Every plan runs the same full Chrome. Business is $8 a month for 100 browser hours; plans differ in hours and parallel sessions. Residential traffic is $1/GB.

Need more at once? Add parallel sessions to any plan for $2 a month each, as many as you need. Residential traffic is $1/GB.

Custom

From 4 parallel sessions, with a dedicated account manager, a premium SLA and tailored onboarding.

Headless browser API questions

What is a headless browser API?

A headless browser API is a browser that runs on a server and takes orders from your code instead of a window. Your script opens pages, clicks, reads them and saves screenshots, PDFs or HTML. Gologin Cloud Browser speaks the Chrome DevTools Protocol, so Puppeteer and Playwright connect to it as they would to local Chrome.

Is Gologin Cloud Browser headless?

For your script, yes: no window on your machine and nothing to install but the library. On our side it runs a full Chrome with a real device fingerprint, so pages render as they do for a person. To watch a run, open its Live View link.

What is browser as a service?

Browser as a service means someone else hosts the browsers and you rent them by the hour or by the request. With Gologin you rent browser hours, residential traffic is $1/GB, and each profile keeps its own device, cookies and IP between runs.

Can I take screenshots and PDFs?

Yes. page.screenshot() and page.pdf() work as they do locally, and the scripts above save both. There is no separate endpoint for them: everything runs through Puppeteer or Playwright.

Is there a REST API?

Cloud Browser is driven over a WebSocket by Puppeteer or Playwright; profiles and proxies are managed through the Gologin REST API. If you only need a page's HTML from a URL, Web Unlocker is a single HTTP request.

Which languages and libraries work?

Node.js with Puppeteer or Playwright, and Python with Playwright. Anything that speaks the Chrome DevTools Protocol connects to the same wss:// address. See Playwright & Puppeteer.

Is there a free headless browser API?

Yes. Sign up with Google and you get an API key right away: 3 runs of up to 15 minutes each on 1 parallel session, no card.

How many browsers can I run at once?

One on the free tier and on Professional, 2 on Business, 3 on Enterprise, from 4 on Custom. Add more to any plan for $2 a month each.

How fast does a session start?

A new profile's first start takes a few seconds while its browser is set up. After that, a session connects in 1-2 seconds, with no warm pool of browsers to keep running.

Can I upload and download files?

Uploads work with setInputFiles, as they do locally. To save a file, fetch it from inside the page and write the bytes on your side: the request goes out from the same browser and residential IP as the rest of the run.

Can I develop locally and run in the cloud?

Yes. Keep chromium.launch() on your laptop and switch to the connect line when the script moves to a server or a schedule. Test suites connect the same way: see Playwright & Puppeteer for a Playwright Test fixture.

Which countries can the IP come from?

Pick the country when you create the profile. Residential and mobile IPs come from Gologin Proxies in 195+ countries, or bring your own proxy.

Is Gologin an alternative to Browserless or Browserbase?

Yes, for Puppeteer and Playwright scripts: change the connect line and keep the rest. You pay by the browser hour from $4.50 a month, residential traffic is $1/GB, and a profile keeps the same IP and login for the next run. Ready-made endpoints such as /pdf and /screenshot have no match here: you call the same functions from your script.

Stop hosting Chrome for your scripts.

One line connects Puppeteer or Playwright to Gologin Cloud Browser: screenshots, PDFs and HTML from a full Chrome on a residential IP, from $4.50 a month.
