If you manage multiple YouTube accounts as an agency or freelancer, you’re probably familiar with the hassle of accessing your client’s accounts, forced logouts, re-verification checks, and juggling multiple client accounts across multiple browser tabs.
YouTube allows multiple accounts per user, but it does keep track of the device IPs that these accounts are used on. If you jeopardize one of your accounts, you can risk a ban or restrictions on other related accounts as well that are managed on the same device IP.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to manage multiple YouTube accounts on the same device, the methods I tried, and the fixes I found. I’ll also walk you through a step-by-step tutorial for my recommended method.
Why Would You Need Multiple YouTube Accounts?
Running more than one YouTube account isn’t just a spam activity like social media. YouTube itself allows multiple accounts under one Google account. Moreover, creator management agencies and freelancers handle accounts for many brands and influencers, and they need to not only access the YouTube accounts, but to securely manage so many accounts separately. Here are some common scenarios:
Influencer & Content Networks
YouTube influencers commonly operate multiple channels. An agency or creator might run a network of niche channels (travel vlogs, tech reviews, etc.) to target different audiences. Multiple accounts also help test YouTube’s algorithm. Many creators upload the same Shorts video across different accounts to see which hashtags, titles, etc., the algorithm favors. This “multi-channel testing” approach is only possible with multiple YouTube accounts.
Client Account Management
Marketing agencies and freelancers handle multiple clients and their YouTube channels. Overseeing 10 different YouTube accounts with separate logins can be a daunting task. You can also invite your agency’s Google account as an account manager for all the client YouTube accounts, but it isn’t a great solution. Why? Because each client rightly owns their account, and you don’t want them all mixed up. In my agency, I initially tried adding my main Google account as a manager on multiple client channels but it quickly became messy.
Different Niches or Regions
Sometimes, a single brand runs multiple niche, language, or region-specific channels. These separate channels target region-specific audiences and trends. However, merging all these brand accounts under one Google account is a risk. One brand account’s malicious activity can ban others as well. This is why you should keep their Google accounts separate.
In short, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to have multiple YouTube accounts.
The Challenges of Managing Multiple YouTube Accounts
A snippet from Google’s terms of service explaining that all linked accounts are subject to termination.
Google tracks your device’s digital fingerprint (IP, MAC address, WebGL, cookies, OS version, etc.) on which you frequently access YouTube. When it finds multiple accounts on one device fingerprint, it groups them together. If one account gets flagged, all the accounts are in danger. You might receive verification prompts or even temporary restrictions on other accounts.
Moreover, when you switch to operate multiple Google accounts on the same device, or access them from another device, you can be asked to verify your identity, or submit CAPTCHAs, etc. Eventually, the friction from constant logins, verifications, and account confusion made me realize I needed a safer, more scalable way to manage accounts.
How to Run Multiple YouTube Accounts Safely With Gologin (Recommended Method)
I tried several methods (listed in the later section) but all of them had some pitfalls. The only reliable, long-term, effective, and secure method out of all was using an anti-detect browser like Gologin. Antidetect browsers are excellent at multi-account management due to their anonymity and secure browsing experience.
Antidetect browsers like Gologin create isolated profiles with unique fingerprints. In plain English, every browser profile acts as a unique device with its own memory, cookies, IP, OS, WebGL, etc. So, if you create 20 profiles, these are in reality 20 unique devices running in the cloud. Your browsing across all profiles is completely isolated. This solves so many issues like IP conflicts, verification checks, CAPTCHA, and the risk of account bans.
The biggest benefit of using Gologin is that it eliminates the need to share account passwords. Now, the agencies and freelancers don’t have to go back and forth with their clients to access their accounts. You can access their Gologin profile and manage their account (or they can log in to their account in your Gologin profile). To simplify things, let me walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to set up multiple YouTube accounts with Gologin.
1. Download and Install the Gologin App
Download the Gologin browser from their website and sign up. Gologin is just like other browsers you use (but better). You can also install their mobile browser app to sync your browser profiles across web and mobile.
2. Create a New Browser Profile
When you open the Gologin browser and log in, you will see Gologin’s profile dashboard. You can create and manage your browser profiles here. Create a new profile from here. Give it a useful name, select your geolocation, OS version, WebGL, time zone, your IP (Gologin provides 5 free proxies for you to start with), and other settings. The default settings will also work. When done, just save the profile settings. Now, your profile is ready to be launched.
3. Launch the Profile and Log in to YouTube
Run the profile you created. It will act as a unique device with its own IP, MAC address, and location. Moreover, the profile looks exactly like Google Chrome since it’s built on Google’s Chromium, so you will feel familiar with it. Head over to YouTube and log in with your account.
If you’re managing your client’s account, you can also share this Gologin profile with them and ask them to log in to their account (which will get synced for you as well).
When you close the browser window, your settings, browser history, cookies, and other data get stored in the cloud and are synced for all users using that browser profile.
4. Create More Gologin Browser Profiles
Repeat step #3. Create a new profile, assign it a different proxy this time to change the IP address. Go to YouTube and log in with a different account. Repeat this step for as many YouTube accounts you manage. Now, you’ve got multiple isolated browser profiles, each with a specific YouTube account and unique fingerprint. Now, even if you run all these profiles at once, YouTube will see them as 10 unique devices. This eliminates all problems you can potentially face when running multiple YT accounts.
5. Sharing Gologin Profiles With Clients
As I mentioned above, the best part about Gologin is that I don’t have to ask for the client’s account password. I can share the Gologin profile with my client, they open it, log in to their account, and close. The change gets synced on my device since the profile’s cookies, data, and other settings get synced to the cloud every time someone makes a change. We can now collaborate using this Gologin profile or even invite more people to use and manage that YouTube account.
Since I set proxies for each profile, anyone whom I invite to use that profile will automatically be connected to my set proxy. So for YouTube, it will be as if all the traffic is coming from a single device.
Other Methods to Manage Multiple Youtube Accounts (Why I Don’t Recommend Them)
I tried various other methods before stumbling upon Gologin. Here is a list of commonly used methods, how they work, and why I don’t use them anymore.
Creating Multiple Browser Profiles
If I use Chrome, Firefox, or Opera browsers, I can just create multiple browser profiles for the YouTube accounts I manage. However, as we discussed above, it does not solve the problem of IP and fingerprint duplication, as these browsers use your original IP and fingerprint. I would still need my client’s account password, and would need to complete verification every time we simultaneously access the account from two different locations or when I try bulk uploading.
I can also add my own proxies for each browser profile, which will solve some of the problems (except that the fingerprint will still be the same).
Multiple Regular Devices for YouTube Accounts
I can also run these YouTube accounts on different devices. This solves my fingerprint and IP problem, but who in their right mind would spend so much money on multiple devices just to conveniently run their YouTube accounts? To avoid the inconvenience of YouTube logouts and bans, I couldn’t add the inconvenience of managing multiple devices.
Using VPNs or Basic Proxies
I used a VPN for a few weeks to manage accounts and avoid the IP issue. This method is great if you want to perform some keyword research for YouTube and spot key trends for a specific location. The hassle of verifications, 2FAs, and CAPTCHAs was still there. The only good thing about VPN is IP masking and location-specific content suggestions, which are even better served by an anti-detect browser with a built-in proxy.
Relying on YouTube’s Brand Accounts and Channel Permissions
You can now invite other Google accounts to manage your YouTube channel. You can even set their permission level (editor, moderator, full-access, etc.). This is a convenient method to get access to someone’s YouTube account, but you still won’t have access to many key settings and analytics. Moreover, if you’re invited to 5-10 YouTube accounts as an editor, managing them and keeping the data and activity isolated is still a problem that only the Gologin antidetect browser can solve.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have multiple YouTube accounts with one Gmail?
Yes, you can create multiple YouTube brand accounts under one email account as per Google’s policy. However, all these sub-brand accounts will share the same Google credentials. If one of the accounts gets a copyright strike and gets banned, it can put your other brand accounts at risk as well.
Is it against YouTube's rules to have multiple accounts?
It is not against the guidelines to have multiple accounts. However, there is still a limit before YouTube’s algorithm flags you as a spammer. YouTube keeps strong checks to see if the accounts are not performing scraping, or carrying out bot activity, etc. To keep your accounts secure, it's recommended to use an antidetect browser.
How do I switch between accounts without logging out?
If you’re using brand accounts under the same login, you can switch easily. However, if those accounts are on different emails, it's always a good practice to isolate them by putting them in separate browser profiles.
Can managing multiple accounts from one device get them banned?
There is no policy. As long as you’re operating under the terms of service, you won’t get banned for managing multiple accounts. You will only jeopardize your accounts if you carry out spam activity on one of the accounts.
Conclusion on Multiple Youtube Accounts
For creators, agencies, and brands, using antidetect browsers for multi-account management has become a necessity. Especially when social media platforms now have strict checks in place to detect any kind of spam activity, it is always recommended to protect your original IP and device fingerprint from getting permanently banned from the platform. Always use proxy browsers to safely manage multiple Youtube accounts of the same platform.
