How to Counter Browser Fingerprinting?

Our readers already know well that websites constantly monitor their visitors. Most often, cookies and IPs are used for this. But they are easy to hide. You can permanently delete your cookies and change the IP address. Therefore, browser fingerprinting was developed.

Canvas fingerprints are one of the browser’s fingerprinting methods for tracking online users that allow websites to identify and track visitors using an HTML5 canvas element instead of browser cookies or other similar means. Right now, only two methods are known to combat browser fingerprinting. They are outlined in our article!

Your fingerprint contains information about the browser, platform, screen resolution, and other parameters. By visiting the website, you leave a digital token. This token is an individual indicator for determining site visitors. Sites can also store these tokens. But even worse, they can pass them on to their partners and advertising agencies.

Here are just a few parameters that make up your digital fingerprint:
1. Screen Resolution
2. Time zone
3. Color Depth
4. CPU class
5. Platform
6. Installed fonts
7. Plugins
8. Is Adblock set or not
9. Pixel ratio
10. Does the user use the Canvas Blocker

Fingerprints allow you to almost accurately determine the person behind the screen. To avoid this, you must hide your IP address, disable javascript in the browser and other plugins. Some browsers help make this easier. For example, the popular Tor browser. However, this is not the most convenient alternative. Javascript allows you to complete tasks much easier. Disabling it will hide your identity, but will make using the Internet more difficult.

There is a more convenient alternative. There are browser identity management platforms that allow you to use all the convenience of browsers while hiding your identity. These platforms mask all monitored data. You can also configure different profiles and use each of them separately. This option is much better because using Tor you are identified as well as other Tor users. Because of this, sites will often check you. Sometimes your accounts will block and limit opportunities. Therefore, we developed GoLogin.
